NP:J-Plus
To ensure the quality of the program and to maximize the learning potential for all
participants, the number of participants will be limited. Native-Japanese teaching
assistants with experience teaching American students will assist the master teacher
to provide highly individualized attention. In addition to in-class work, field trips
and excursions will give learners opportunities to broaden their experience and use
their Japanese in different environments. Students will be awarded certificates upon
successful completion of the program.
For the summer of 2004, this program is open to any high school student currently
studying Japanese whose school group participates in the June 10-25, 2004 New Perspectives:
Japan study tour. Individual students without any NP:J school group affiliation may
also apply. All students must have completed one year of Japanese. A separate application
including an assessment from your teacher is required. The master teacher will make
final selections after a review of all applications in order to ensure an appropriate
grouping of learners. The NP:J Plus program will begin on June 25, 2004 and end on
July 15, 2004.
